A Day Off

Posted by Theresa Harris on

Today we are staying home. It has been 43 days today of frantically working to keep the Brass open during this pandemic and today we need to rest, recover and rejuvenate. Tomorrow we will be back at the shop fulfilling orders, filming the first installment of our new Mystery May FB live series and continuing our portion of work within our Maker community.

Today was hard. We made the choice to refund all the deposits people had made for upcoming classes and camps. It was a large amount of money we gave back to people because we really have no idea when we will be able to hold those classes and kid camps are just not likely to occur this summer. It was a huge hit financially but maybe even a bigger hit emotionally. We chose our brick and mortar location due to the space for our Maker's Studio. We love having people coming together for classes, hosting guest teachers and bringing folks together for our Twisted Tuesdays and Friday night Magic Maker's Nights. We are sad to no longer offer these important engagements but also know one day they will return with more participants than ever.

In the meantime, we plan to watch this award winning documentary (T. is a documentary junkie) and dream of the day we reopen our doors and have you all walk through them with a light jingle of bells alerting us to the joy of you being in our space.

Be well, stay safe and much love to you all.

  • I’m interested in what you have available in cotton for masks in different team designs. I want Florida State University, University of Texas, Alabama, University of Memphis, University of Tennessee, and the Tennessee Titans (NFL). Not sure if you even carry team designs, but wanted to check…Thanks!
